August… vacations, heat, and a beautiful wedding

And just like that we hit August (two months ago... yikes!). This year has been something else, right?! With our busiest year yet, I was so ready and excited for a vacation come August. So, my family packed up our entire house (not sure I realized just how much we’d need to fit into a car with a 5 month old) and headed to Duck, NC for a little R&R. It was little Josie’s first time at the beach, and as long as her little legs could kick the water, she was happy as a clam.

I needed some family beach time, and when we got back to the beautiful Queen City, it was time for Allison and Ryan’s absolutely STUNNING wedding. The two tied the knot at Covenant Presbyterian and then partied the night away at the Mint Museum Uptown.

Allison and the ladies got ready in an upgraded suite (courtesy of the groom) at the Ritz before heading off the chapel in a limo. And it was a good thing the limo had great air conditioning, because photos at the church before the ceremony were hot, hot hot! (literally and figuratively). Once their first look was over, Ryan had to step inside to cool off - and he wasn’t alone. BUT man, it was worth it… the photos from Erin L. Taylor Photography are absolutely stunning!

After the ceremony, guests headed into Uptown and up to the 5th floor of the Mint Museum to enjoy cocktail hour and the wedding reception. The room was gorgeous and classically decorated with floral centerpieces, candles, garland, rose gold accents.

Guests were treated to a night of food, drinks, and lots of dancing. Allison and Ryan were true hosts for the evening, making sure to spend time with all of their guests and dedicating time to boogie down on the dance floor.

Before guests left and made a glow stick tunnel exit for the bride and groom, they all grabbed a baggie and filled it with homemade cookies that family members made for the couple. It was such a sweet table for a sweet couple. Congratulations Allison and Ryan!

Best,

Libby
