Oh, October

October is THE PRIMO wedding month here in the Carolinas. Why you ask? Well…

  1. Beautiful weather. It’s not 90 and humid anymore, and it gets just cold enough to put a light coat on in the evenings

  2. The colors. Leaves are changing, dahlias are in bloom, and the colors are RICH

  3. There’s a buzz in the air. Major sporting events are in full swing, the rush of holidays is coming on, and it seems like there are fun festivals and concerts going on constantly (which gives guests something to do while they’re waiting excitedly for your wedding!)

We had three very beautiful, but all very different weddings in October of 2017. Check out the photos below to see all the Fall fun in action!

Linda and Sean

These two fabulous people tied the knot and partied the night away at the Mint Museum Uptown. They kept things simple and let the building’s architecture and city views do the heavy lifting. My favorite parts of this wedding were the guest book- a blank set of the game Cards Against Humanity that guests filled out throughout the night- and the subtle laying out of dance floor props that culminated in one epic Harlem Shake.

Leeanna and Chris

This laid back couple wanted something simple and uncomplicated for their Friday night wedding in Uptown. They had their ceremony at Midwood Baptist Church, followed by the all important dinner, drinks, and dancing at Foundation for the Carolinas. Simple, metal centerpieces and sleek calla lilies complimented the modern feel of the venue. My favorite part of this wedding was the smile that would NOT leave the bride’s face!

Jenni and Jesse

Ok, so technically these two were married five years ago, but like so many military couples, they didn’t get the traditional ceremony and reception they had dreamed of. So with the most ADORABLE six month old, these two said “I do” (again) at Separk Mansion surrounded by their closest family and friends. The couple did a great job of incorporating unique touches into a traditional wedding setup with the Fallen Comrade table, a nod to the television show Friends for their cake topper, and a specially choreographed first dance. My favorite part of the day, though, was the Best Man’s sleepy walk down the aisle with the Maid of Honor.
