Katie and Dan's Wedding

Katie and Dan are such a fun pair. There are few weddings where you find the subtle colors of champagne and peach combined with beautiful, classic florals, and then get to throw in a skull and crossbones koozie. Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE couples who are authentically and fantastically themselves? I do. (Wedding pun fully intended).

Katie is a former event planner in her hometown of Houston, and she was on top of the planning process. She knew exactly what she wanted, and I couldn’t wait to bring her vision to life. Setting up for her wedding was like watching floral magic come to life. The bad news… her florist has closed up shop to go back to his passion of working with animals. The good news… we got to bask in the glory of one of his final weddings. I encourage you to use the photos as wedding inspiration. Just gorgeous.

The wedding party had a fully Uptown Charlotte wedding experience, starting their days getting ready at the Marriott City center and then spent mid afternoon, running around on their BEAUTIFUL February 11 wedding date taking photos outside… sans coats. Bless you early Spring! When the two groups were finished with photos, they headed into Foundation for the Carolinas to await the start of the ceremony.

Sunshine streamed in through the two story glass windows for the 5:00pm ceremony. The service was short, sweet, and full of love. After the ceremony, guests headed over to the cocktail hour space where they could enjoy their drinks and appetizers OUTSIDE on the terrace. Seriously, I cannot tell you how much the 70 degree day added to the fun and love of Katie and Dan’s day.

The reception began with intros and a warm welcome from the Bride’s father before dinner kicked off. As guests finished their meals, they watched as the bride and groom cut their cake and had their first dance. From there, the dance floor opened up and did not empty for the rest of the evening. Drinks flowed, dancing and singing ensued, and merriment continued through the glow stick exit. Overall, it was an amazing evening that I’m sure continued to be a blast at the couple’s after party.

Congratulations Katie and Dan!

Best,

Libby
