People often ask me what venues I find myself at the most- and the answer’s not simple. There are a TON of fabulous venues in the Charlotte and surrounding areas and I feel really lucky that we get to work with so many beautiful and different places. From skyline views and city lights, to barns and old historic houses, working at different venues means various wedding styles -which in turn keeps things interesting and varied.
With that said- Details Wedding Planning had a record five weddings in September - WOAH! What’s even crazier, we had two repeat venues in the same month. Without further introduction- get ready to see some crazy beautiful wedding inspiration - all with nod to natural beauty.
Katie and Dan
This funny, sarcastic, and oh so adorable couple tied the knot at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. The scenery here is to die for. Perfectly manicured - these gardens are what I would imagine are a photographer’s dream. The Great Hall is an absolutely gorgeous, open room surrounded with windows that create a grand and romantic feel. From the first time I met with Katie, she said “I want a white wedding.” Her style is purely classic, and it works perfectly with this venue. I would say more about this wedding, but photos from Amore Vita tell the story of their day better than I can.
Sarah and Calvin
These two Clemson alums (go Tigers!) tied the knot at the Ritz’s Urban Gardens (I told you there was a natural feel to all these venues). Sarah wanted all of her guests to walk into their wedding reception and be wowed; and with towering glass ceilings, indoor trees, and a custom ice sculpture, she succeeded. My favorite part of their evening was a twist on the classic garter removal. You’ll have to watch the quick video to see how they spiced it up!
Thank you Fotografia Stellare for the photos!
Alison and Tyler
AND… just like that we were BACK at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens! Alison and Tyler kept things simple with a navy and cream color palette, bold florals, and a fantastic plated meal from Best Impressions Caterers. They danced and sang all throughout the reception, but perhaps the biggest hit was the photobooth - it was NEVER empty! From the start of hair and makeup through the sparkler exit, Alison and Tyler had the biggest smiles on their faces.
Molly and Evan
This beautiful couple hosted a fantastic wedding at…. (drumroll…) the Urban Gardens! That’s right- two weddings with the wonderful staff at the Ritz. Molly and Evan had both their ceremony and reception at the Urban Gardens, meaning that during cocktail hour, we flipped the space from a ceremony aisle to seating and full place settings for their 125 guests. And what a transition! It’s really magical what can happen to a space when everyone from the hotel staff, catering staff, rental company, florist, and of course your planner(!) dives right in and gets to work. Molly was aiming for a classic, garden style wedding with big city lights, and that’s what happened. I love that we were able to give her and Evan a sneak preview before the guests made their way back up the staircase for the reception at the end of cocktail hour. A big thank to Rob + Kristen for the amazing photos!
Kerry and Sean
Ok ok, this venue is not a repeat for the month of September, but Kerry and Sean were our second couple to get married at Raffaldini vineyards this year. The views from this amazing venue are some of the best in the area for sure - and the couple used those as their main decor piece, keeping their color palette very neutral and letting the sunset do all the work. Kerry and Sean's wedding really was the perfect epitome of a "classy Fall affair". The florals, by What's Up Buttercup pulled this off perfectly - I couldn't dream up how she was able to combine fresh flowers with dried floral accents, but it pulled the theme together perfectly. (and please bear with our few quick snaps for now - professional pictures are coming!)
Ah! September was just amazing. I hope these FIVE fantastic weddings give you a bit of inspiration!
Happy Planning,
Libby
